Gary David Rothamer

Gary David Rothamer, age 88, passed away on April 23, 2024. He was born in Medford, WI to the late David Rothamer and Hannah (Poehline) on June 22, 1935. In 1955 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served honorably until 1957. In 1958, he moved to Kenosha, WI where he made his loving home and devoted his career to working at Chrysler AMC, until he retired in 1990.

On April 7, 1956, he married the love of his life, Marlene (Joiner), and they were married for 59 years until her death in 2015. Gary enjoyed fishing, gardening, and attending Milwaukee Brewers games, and you could always find him out socializing with his many friends. Gary and Marlene raised three children, whom he is survived by: Debra (Jeff) Butler, Lori (Kurt) Callow, and Scott Rothamer. He is also survived by his granddaughter: Corine (Derek) Friday, great grandchildren: Clayton, Chase and Dax Friday, siblings: Lee (Joanne) Rothamer and Dale Rothamer, as well as many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings: Dennis, Alan, and Shirley.

The family would like to give many thanks to Arbor View Memory Care where he spent the last few years of his life, Hospice Alliance, and his good friend Lisa for the care and friendship she provided to him for the past several years.

Services for Gary will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church (5601 Washington Road) on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Visitation with family will start at 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service. Burial and military honors will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park (4300 Green Bay Road) following the service, where he will be reunited next to Marlene.
