Herschel Lee Devine, age 53, of Kenosha, passed away on February 6th, 2024. He was born on March 1st, 1970, to the late Clarence and Sharon (Stevenson) Devine. He worked at Jantz Automotive for many years as a mechanic.
Herschel is survived by his children: Jacob (Mercedes) Devine, Amanda (John) Vincent, and Travis (Anna) Beckius, grandchildren: Mylie Vincent, Jaylie Devine, and Jacob Devine Jr. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Opal Stevenson and Herschel Stevenson, parents, and siblings: Michelle VanVleet, and Michael VanVleet.
Herschel loved his children and kept in regular contact with their mother, Wendy Schmaling, who was always a huge part of his life.
Services for Herschel will be held at Kenosha Christian Fellowship (5610 55th street, Kenosha, WI, 53144) on Thursday February 15th, 2024, at 6 P.M. A visitation with the family will take place at the church from 4 P.M. until the time of the service.

Sad to learn today of Bud’s passing. As kids, Buddy and I grew up on the same stretch of 5th Avenue and we met in first first or second grade one day as I rode my bike around the block. As the younger sibling of several older brothers, as I recall, his sometimes tough exterior masked the reserved and considerate person within. He was a very kind hearted soul who looked out for other people; something he didn’t always get credit for when we were teenagers. I remember him actually preventing a house from burning down once, probably in 1989 or thereabouts, something he did quietly, with no fanfare, and without ever seeking any personal credit for it. Rest in God’s Eternal Peace, old friend.
