Roland John Marsolek, age 86, of Kenosha, passed away on February 5th, 2024. He was born on December 10th, 1937, to the late John and Victoria (Karasch) Marsolek. He was raised on the family farm in Trempealeau County, Wisconsin. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1957 to 1959. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he moved to Kenosha, where he met Olive Ceranski. They married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cassel, Wisconsin on August 11th, 1962. He was employed at AMC/Chrysler for over 40 years. He was also a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church for many years.
Roland loved music and often listened to country and western music. When he was younger, Roland also played accordion in a polka band. When he wasn’t enjoying music, he loved gardening, taking walks or bike rides, maintaining the most pristine lawn on the block, and above all else, spending time with family. He especially loved attending the grandchildren’s sporting and school events. He was loving, caring, disciplined, meticulous, and responsible. He loved nothing more than God, family, and his country. Occasionally, when least expected, he could share some good humor.
He is survived by his wife Olive (Ceranski) Marsolek, children: Lisa Martell, Patrick (Michele) Marsolek, and Matthew (Rachel) Marsolek, grandchildren: Zachary Martell, Hannah (Andrew) Jazdzewski, Jacob Martell, Patrick (Morgan) Timler, Tim Timler, Miranda Timler, Nathan (April) Smith, great grandchildren: Madisyn Timler, Olivia Timler, Jayce Hicks, Josie Hicks, Noah Smith, and Natalie Smith, siblings: LeRoy Marsolek, Darlene (Roger) Regez, Janice (Chuck) Larson, and Connie Breier. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Roland will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church on February 10, 2024, at 10 A.M. A visitation with the family will take place at the church from 9 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial at St. George Catholic Cemetery will follow.
The family would like to thank Hospice Alliance, doctors Christopher Wills, William Bake, Anna Silenzi, and Jeffrey Trimark, and their kind staff for all the attention and care. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Marks Parish, Hospice Alliance, or your charity of choice in Rolands name would be appreciated.
