John Frost says:
Not only was Bob Pozza a great football coach, but he was simply a great person!
Inspiring, insightful, intelligent and someone who could encourage people to go above and beyond in the classroom and on the football field.
I have known “Coach Pozza” since his days at Lance Junior High when he was coaching the opposing team – I was playing for an opposing team and could see the dedication. I was very happy he came to Tremper when I played there.
Coach stayed in touch over the years and I always was happy to keep the connection going.
Bob may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
My condolences to the family of my friend, Bob Pozza.
Tremper class of 1972.

Condolences and prayers for his family.
Class of 1975…He was so kind and helpful. I was so fearful of giving a demonstration on noise pollution that my knees were shaking. He guided me with suggestions on my presentation. I was the only student to receive an A+. Fond memories of Mr. Pozza.
Ellen Kupfer says:
He was such a nice man. My condolences to all.
Dale Brandes says:
Condolences to the family. I had Bob in biology at Lance and enjoyed his class immensely! After graduating i would see Bob and Sharon shopping at the Pig! Bob was a joy to talk sports with and also racquetball! Bob always had a smile and great sense of humor. I’ll miss him much. From Tremper class of 1972. Prayers for your family.
Dan Glatz says:
Such sad news! Many times I would have gone without food if it weren’t for him giving me a pear at lunch when I was a teacher’s aide for him and couldn’t afford food. He really gave me my love of science, especially biology and genetics! He challenged us to balance ethics and science. I was honored he came to my wedding. A great, great man. Tremper Class of 1996.

Family, Mary (Pozza) Knoke & Pat (Pozza) O’Neil & Families:
We are so very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. It’s been such a long time since we’ve seen everyone, but when together such fun! Especially my Dad (Chi Chi) and all the fellas singing the Pozza song, beautiful harmonizing! I remember them singing at our wedding, too. Great memories. They’re all together in heaven, singing their hearts out! And what a beautiful write-up for Bob, he had a full and wonderful life. Thoughts and prayers for you all.

Candace Isetts-Williams says:
A life well-lived…Mr. Pozza was an amazing teacher and an overall fantastic human! So many memories of his biology and advanced biology classes, and I was also his TA. He’d often share his advice on life….”you must dress for success,” as he’d turn up the collar of his Izod polo and point out his coordinating Izod socks…or when the situation called for a bit more “class,” he’d wear his Izod button down with a tie. Mr. Pozza also taught me that when properly prepared and presenting materials in front of the class…that I was the expert, and that fact should calm my nerves…something I carried on into my professional career…and passed along to my children. I will never forget his unit on pond ecosystems in 10th grade….and the photo montage he put together with songs from Triumph. Really cool, Mr. Pozza…I saw Mr. Pozza only once or twice after high school, but I think he’d be proud of where I am now. Mr. Pozza…you lived your life in a way that you will be remembered..remembered for your kindness, your compassion, your fairness, your character…you were a force for good…and for that I am forever grateful to have known you and your legacy will live on through me and through my children. Thank you. Candace Isetts-Williams, Tremper Class of 1984

Coach inspired me and had a never ending impact. He never let us give up or stop playing until the final whistle. One hundred percent was expected on and off the field. Bob was truly a wonderful man.
Steve Pozza says:
To Sharon and all if my cousins, so sad to hear of Bobs passing. Such a great person from a great family. The gang is now all together to continue their harmony singing the Pozza song. I’m glad we have a video of possibly the last time they were all together at Cowboy Lake in the UP. Definitely the end of a great era. Blessings to all of you.
