Charlotte “Char” Kelps

Charlotte “Char” Kelps a resident of Kenosha, died Thursday December 8th, 2022, at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie.

        Born on November 14th, 1947, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary (Dubanwicz) Hansche.

        She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and attended Gateway Technical Institute.

        On October 5th, 1974, she married Allen Kelps. He would precede her in death.

        She was employed by Jockey International, Leblanc Corporation and PDQ.

       Her hobbies included darts, pool, baking breads and gardening. She LOVED Sudoku. She also participated and organized local benefits. She also enjoyed designing party arrangements and decorations.

Mom was a caring person who gave 110% in everything she did and there isn’t anyone who she wouldn’t help. She is survived by daughters Kelly (Andy) Macomber – Pleasant Prairie, WI. Kimmie (Kyle) Rodriguez Racine, WI. Grandchildren Allen, Aeden, Liam Macomber, Riley, Maya, and Kali Rodriguez. She is further survived by brother, Mark (Kathy) Hansche Kenosha, WI 

sister, Lucy (Merlin) Anderson – Kenosha, WI

Best friend and soul sister, Mary Durkee as well as many, many nieces, nephews, and one great niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Kelps, nephew Kenneth Anderson, parents John and Mary Hansche, brothers David Hansche, Johnny Hansche, sister, Mary Jane (John) Melander, mother and father-in-law Marguerite and Albert Kelps, great niece, Bettina Sanders and sister Virjean Fitchette.

        Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022, at 11:00AM at the Kemper Center Founders Hall. (6501-3rd Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday in Founders Hall from 9:30AM until 11:00AM.

        Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

The family would like to send heartfelt thanks to the Pleasant Prairie Police and Fire, the paramedics, and extremely caring staff at Froedtert South/St Catherine’s and a special thank you to Gina Pierangeli for being first on scene and for trying to save our mom. We cannot say thank you enough.

    Char and I started school together and spent the first 8 years of our education as good friends. Most recently with Diana Shudagis and Linda Lemke she helped organise an 8th grade reunionof Hill Crest School which I and my wife attended, The three girls did an awesome job and it was well attended and fun for all.I will miss Char . She was a very special person in so many ways. She is with her savior now . God remain with you Char. I love you and I am sure I am not the only one who does. Bye until ??????

    Auntie Charlotte, my most favorite childhood memories always have you in them. I can remember the many summers and weekends spent with you, Uncle AL, Kelly and Kim. I will cherish those memories forever. My heart hurts for all that loved you. Rest in Peace.
