Donald J. “Charlie” Blazavier, 86, passed away Wednesday July 22, 2015 at the Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center in Kenosha.
Don was born May 26, 1929 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Joseph and Estelle (Magles) Blazavier. He was united in marriage to Eileen Pagenkopf in 1956.
Don had a flair for being larger than life. If he wasn’t performing his classic Jimmy Stewart impersonation, he was stopping the 4th of July parade to take a photo. Don was a longtime prominent Kenosha area businessman. He started Don Blazavier Auto Body in 1971, which later became All-American Caps ‘N’ Liners. Don was a devoted Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He had an immense passion for auto racing; from sprint-car to Nascar.
Don retired in 2009. His most cherished moments were spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Don’s eyes would light up and his smile would get huge when they came into the room. Don may have left this earth, but his time here will provide us with a smile as we look back at some of those memorable moments created by “Charlie” Blazavier.
Don is survived by his wife Eileen, son Scott Blazavier and daughter Jill (Jon) Ianni, grandchildren Jayme, Redo, Amanda and Payton, along with great grandchildren Kasey and Kamren.
Don was preceded in death by his father Joseph, mother Estelle and brother Albert.
